Terms of service

These terms set the conditions for using the Selfie AI app and related services ("the Service") provided by LJ Labs LLC ("the Company", "we"). These terms were written in Korean. If this English translation and the Korean original differ, the Korean original applies.

Summary

There is no sign-up. Each install uses an anonymous account.
You spend coins when you request a generation, and we give the coins back if the generation fails or a safety check blocks it.
The App Store and Google Play handle payments and refunds. We do not refund coins as cash.
You may upload only your own face or the face of someone who has agreed.
You own the results.

1. When these terms apply

By installing and using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, stop using the app and delete it.

Our privacy policy covers how we process personal information. The App Store and Google Play terms also apply to downloading the app and to payments.

2. What the Service does

The Service uses generative artificial intelligence (AI) to make photos or short videos from one selfie you upload and a template we provide.

You choose a template and upload a selfie. The instructions sent to the AI are set by the template. You do not write them.

Generation runs on our servers. It continues if you close the app, and if you allowed notifications, we notify you when it is done.

We may add, change, or remove templates without an app update.

3. Who can use the Service

You may use the Service if you are 14 or older. Children under 14 may not use it.

A minor under 19 needs a legal guardian's consent to buy paid products. If a minor paid without that consent, the minor or the guardian may cancel the payment. Cancellation and refunds follow the procedure of the store where the payment was made.

4. Anonymous accounts

The Service has no sign-up. When you first open the app, we create an anonymous account for that install. Your coin balance, subscription status, and generation history belong to this account.

We find your account by the install identifier stored on your device. If you delete the app and reinstall it on the same device, you usually return to the same account. If you change or reset your device, or if the identifier stored on the device is erased, we create a new account. In that case, we cannot move coins and results from the old account to the new account.

You can reconnect a subscription you bought in the store to a new account with "Restore purchases" in the app. Coins are not restored.

5. Coins

Coins are credits you spend to request generations in the Service. Coins are not money. You cannot transfer them to another account or exchange them for cash. You get coins as a free coin, through a subscription, or by buying a coin pack.

Cost: Each template needs a different number of coins, shown on the template card. The app locks any template that needs more coins than your balance, and you cannot start it.
Deduction and refund: When you request a generation, the coins it needs come out of your balance right away. If the generation succeeds, those coins count as spent. If the generation fails, a safety check blocks it, or you cancel it before it starts, we give all of those coins back.
Free coin: We give you 1 free coin when you first install the app. Each install identifier can receive the free coin only once.
Expiry: Coins do not expire. Coins you already received stay after a subscription ends. If we shut down the Service, we handle remaining coins as described in section 12.

6. Subscriptions

The Pro subscription comes as a monthly plan and a yearly plan. With a subscription, you receive the number of coins shown on the purchase screen for each subscription period. The price, the number of coins, and any free trial period are shown on the purchase screen and in the store.

Free trial: For a plan with a free trial, we give you the trial coins shown on the purchase screen during the trial. When the trial ends and becomes a paid subscription, we give you the full coins for that subscription period.
Automatic renewal: A subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the period ends, and the store charges your store account. A free trial also becomes a paid subscription unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before it ends.
Cancellation: Cancel in the subscription settings of the App Store or Google Play. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. After you cancel, Pro status lasts until the end of the period you already paid for.

7. Payments and refunds

Apple App Store or Google Play handles payment, and each store's payment terms apply.

Ask the store where you paid for a refund. Whether you get a refund, and how, follows that store's refund policy.
We do not refund coins as cash.
If you paid but your coins or subscription did not appear, tap "Restore purchases" in the app or tell us at contact@ljtechlabs.com.

If a law gives you rights that are more favorable than these terms, that law applies.

8. Content rules

Your selfie must show your own face. You may upload another person's face only with that person's consent. You may upload the face of a child under 14 only with the consent of the child's legal guardian.

Do not upload photos of the following kinds, and do not use results in the following ways.

Content that breaks the law, or use for an illegal act
Sexual content. Content that sexualizes minors is prohibited in all cases.
Content that shows or encourages violence, hate, or harassment
Content that impersonates another person, or presents something that did not happen as if it were real
Content that infringes another person's rights, such as portrait rights, copyright, or trademarks

You also may not disrupt the Service, access other accounts or our servers without permission, or try to obtain free coins dishonestly.

We may block generations or restrict use of the Service for anyone who breaks these rules.

9. Safety checks and generation limits

fal.ai automatically checks generation requests and results. If a check rejects the request or blocks the result, the generation ends as failed and we give all of its coins back.

If 5 of your requests have their results blocked within 24 hours, you cannot start a new generation until the oldest of those blocks is more than 24 hours old.

Automatic checks do not catch every violation. A result that was not blocked has not necessarily followed these terms, and neither has the photo behind it.

10. Rights to results

You own the results you make with the Service. We transfer to you any rights we might have in the results. Whether AI-generated results are protected by copyright depends on the law of each country.

We handle results only as needed to run the Service, such as storing them and showing them to you. We do not use results in advertising or promotion, and we do not use them to train AI models.

You also keep the rights to the selfies you upload. We use a selfie only as needed for the generation, and we delete it 24 hours after you upload it.

We own the rights to the templates and the app. You are responsible for how you share and use results.

11. About AI-generated results

Generative AI makes the results. A result may not look like you, may show a face or body unnaturally, or may differ from the template preview. If you make it again with the same photo and template, the result will be different.

We do not guarantee the quality or accuracy of results, or that they fit a particular purpose. We do not give back coins spent on a successful generation because you do not like the result.

Results are not real photos or videos. When you share them, do not hide that AI made them or pass them off as real scenes.

12. Changes to the Service and shutdown

We may change templates, the coin cost of each template, the products we offer, and features, or stop part of the Service. We give advance notice of important changes that are unfavorable to you.

The Service may stop for a while because of maintenance, an outage, or an outage at an outside service we use (hosting, AI generation, notifications, or payments). If an outage makes a generation fail, we give the coins back.

If we shut down the whole Service, we announce it on this page and in the app's store listing starting 30 days before the shutdown. We handle remaining paid coins under applicable law and consumer protection standards.

You can stop using the Service at any time by deleting the app. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription, so cancel it in the store. You can ask us to delete your personal information as described in our privacy policy.

13. Limitation of liability

We are not liable for the following losses unless we acted intentionally or with gross negligence.

Losses from being unable to provide the Service for reasons beyond our control, such as natural disasters
Losses from an outage at an outside service we use (hosting, AI generation, notifications, or payments)
Losses caused by your device or network, or by your own fault
Disputes arising from your sharing or use of results
Disputes arising from your upload of a photo that infringes another person's face or rights

This section does not apply to losses caused by our intentional act or gross negligence, or to liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

If you break these terms and cause loss to us or to others, you must compensate for that loss.

14. Governing law and disputes

Korean law governs disputes between the Company and users who live in Korea, and the court that has jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act resolves those disputes.

The Company is a limited liability company (LLC) formed under the laws of Wyoming, United States. Wyoming law governs for users who live outside Korea. Any protection that the law of the user's country gives consumers still applies.

If a dispute arises, tell us first at contact@ljtechlabs.com. We try to resolve it by discussion before any lawsuit.

15. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we post the changes and their effective date on this page at least 7 days before they take effect. We post changes that are unfavorable to you at least 30 days before they take effect.

If you do not agree to the changed terms, you can stop using the Service. If you keep using the Service after the effective date, you agree to the changed terms.
